Recruitment is your top priority

Recruitment is your top priority.

Okay, so if you have no sales on the board and no space to fit new people recruitment is not likely to be your top priority but that would not make a very good blog title now would it!

This is not a blog to tell you to use a recruitment agency; this is a blog about making recruitment your top priority.  However you recruit, there is not a more important business function.  Can you honestly say that there is a more important one?

Interview panelJust one of many quotes from business leaders about the impact of hiring.  There is so much information out there about how to recruit and its importance and yet we still encounter businesses that place recruitment somewhere near the bottom of the pile.

Think about this; when you are recruiting someone to join your team you are recruiting someone that is going to spend around 2,000 hours a year in your business!  Think of the impact that someone who fits in well and is able to do a great job is able to have in 2,000 hours!  Now think of the negative impact of someone who does not fit in and cannot do the job will have over 2,000 hours.

Recruitment is an incredibly important job.  And, if you are going to do a job… do it well!

If you have a happy team you have a productive team.

If you have a productive team you will reach your business targets.

If you reach your business targets you will reach your personal targets.

If you reach your personal targets you will be happy.

Therefore if you recruit well you will be happy!

Make recruitment and recruiting well your top priority; everything else will fall in to place.
