Do you struggle to find the right balance?

Are you male? Do you struggle to find the right balance between work and fitness?

Well, this week it is all about Men’s Health Week!

By looking after your body and examining your daily nutritious intake, you will feel more alive, not just at home but at work too.

Being a happy, healthy person is much easier said than done, right? It’s easier just to fall into the trap of drinking too much coffee at work, or having the last biscuit from the biscuit tin or even drinking another beer at the pub…so why do we do it to ourselves?

We do it to ourselves because we are unaware of the impact it will have on us. We are unaware of the fact that it can increase the risk of getting seriously ill.

This week, we have spoken to two of our fellow team members to find out their secret of finding the right balance between work life and health.

Interview with Josh Bill and Sam Edwards from Success Recruit

o   How important is it for you to exercise?

Josh It is very important to exercise because it makes me feel alert and ready to start the day. I feel more tired if I actually don’t exercise!

Sam I enjoy exercise and it is important to me but I don’t do it enough.

o   How often do you exercise and eat healthy?

Josh – I exercise 5 days a week and I eat healthily everyday but will occasionally have a ‘cheat meal’ at the weekend.

Sam- I play golf every week but I am not sure that counts! I have always been an active person though and eat healthy most of the time but struggle at the weekends.

o   How did you find the right balance between work life and fitness/health?

Josh – At the start, I decided it was time to get into shape because I wanted to feel better about myself which will have an increasingly positive effect on my activity at work. I set a daily reminder to go to the gym before work. It was difficult to get up in the mornings at first, but it definitely pays off.

Sam – I have started to go to the gym at lunch times as this is the best time for me to do it. I try to eat dinner before 7:00pm or I struggle to sleep properly!

o   What is the best health tip you have?

Josh – It’s never too late to change!

Begin to think ‘If I were healthier and fitter, what impacts this could have on my life style’.

Sam- Drink lots of water!
